Hey guys! I was tagged by Destiny and today I’m coming at you with a fun end of the year tag and I’m really excited about it! Let’s dive in!
I was recently tagged by Destiny to do this new tag. Destiny is my absolute favourite, she’s such a blogging inspiration and definitely pushes me to write better content (and especially improve my reviews because hers are so superior)!
*Click on the covers to go to the Goodreads pages!
You have to pick ONE GENRE that you frequently read about… and then, you can’t use ANY books from that genre while answering the questions!
I honestly rarely think about the genres I’m reading but looking through my Goodreads challenge this year I’ve realised that I have read a lot of fantasy and contemporary books. So, I think because I’ve been reading it more often and for much longer in my life, I’ll go with Fantasy to disqualify from my answers.
Hey guys! I just finished writing my last assessment piece for the trimester so I figured what better way to celebrate than to do a book tag!
You can find the original tag here.
1. Find a book on your shelves or e-reader with a blue cover. What made you want to pick up this book?
Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with a fun new book tag! This one was created by Liza @ DuskAngelReads because the Mate-A-Thon is coming! You can read more about the readathon here, but it starts at 12:01 AM on the 12th of October!
You can find the readathon’s Twitter here!
Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with a fun book tag that’s been going around lately. I was tagged by the ever beautiful Elizabeth @ RegalMusings, she’s a wonderful blogger and if you’re not following her you definitely should be!
Two of my favourite bloggers, Elizabeth & Malanie created this tag and I absolutely love it (and them, duh) so you guys should definitely do this tag too! It’s so much fun and spreading the blogger love is a wonderful thing to do!
Hey guys! Today I’m coming at you with a book tag, which is a fun break from all the discussions and recommendations I’ve been posting lately. So thank you so much to Rebecca @ BookishlyRebecca for tagging me because maybe you just saved a life???
- Please pingback to me at Kate @ Melting Pots and Other Calamities. Make sure to pingback to one of Kate’s posts. She won’t see the post otherwise!
- Answer the questions.
- Choose female characters from books, movies, TV, anime, Webtoons, etc.
- Tag as many people as you want, but at least one person.
- Have fun!
1 NAME A HEROINE YOU LIKE, BUT WHOM YOU FEEL IS ALWAYS OVERSHADOWED BY THE MALE CHARACTERS IN THE STORY
SCARLET WITCH! This chick is fab and needs all the rep! I feel like she’s only in the MCU for the love story but I think she’s amazing so… what’s up Marvel???
I honestly think she gets a lot of flack and definitely isn’t used to her full potential in the movies because come on, are you telling me *spoilers* that Wanda can hold off Thanos with one hand and kill the love of her life with the other but that she’s too weak for pretty much anything else? Nope, I want a Scarlet Witch spinoff about her cooking with Vision and kicking butt on her off days.
2 FOR THAT MATTER, NAME A HEROINE WHOM YOU FEEL IS ALWAYS OVERSHADOWED BY THE OTHER FEMALE CHARACTERS IN THE STORY
I wasn’t totally sure what I would answer for this question because my immediate answer was Jessica Jones because I was thinking about MCU women (and The Defenders). But, that doesn’t *totally* work for this one because she has her own show and how can she overshadow herself??? So, I’m going with Trish Walker for this one (keeping in mind that I haven’t seen season 2) because I really enjoyed her character in season 1 and thought she was interesting and complex which I loved about her.
3 NAME A CHARACTER WHO HAD POTENTIAL BUT WAS GREATLY UNDERUTILIZED IN HER STORY
I mean, I feel like the answer could only be Laurel??? From Arrow??? (It could also high-key be Lyla Diggle from Arrow). I was never a big fan of her in the first couple of seasons but, I did start to like her as the show went on (probably around season 3ish) but I felt like the show never really treated her well and she was always getting the short end of the proverbial stick.
4 NAME A FEMALE CHARACTER WHO YOU EITHER FIND BETTER IN HER BOOK THAN HER MOVIE, FIND BETTER IN HER MOVIE THAN HER BOOK, OR WHOSE PORTRAYALS YOU FIND EQUAL
^^ The actual love of my life
I have only read a few comics with Gwen actually in them and I read them a while ago but, I think os far I definitely enjoy her more in Andrew Garfield’s run of the Spider-Man movies. I just love the character so much in the movies that I am immediately underwhelmed whenever I read Spider-Gwen or see her in a comic.
5 NAME A CHARACTER WHO YOU WANT MORE BACKSTORY ON
I’m going to have to go with you on this one, Rebecca and say Velma Dinkley. We almost never get any info on her, compared to the rest of the gang. In my favourite Scooby-Doo cartoon (Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated [LINK]), we definitely get a bit more background on her and we get to meet her parents and stuff like that, but we more get background on other characters like Daphne and Fred (oh my lord his father has the best phrases my life is better because of his dialogue).
Bottom line, I would love to actually learn more about Velma outside of Science classes and love stories.
6 NAME A CHARACTER WITH TRAITS YOU FEEL ARE SADLY OVERLOOKED BY EVERYONE
SAMIRAH AL-ABBAS aka. the most badest ass to ever bad an ass. I don’t know that she’s necessarily overlooked by the characters in the Magnus Chase trilogy, but I feel like she is overlooked in general, in Riordan’s world. I mean, I love Annabeth Chase (with my whole heart) and I think Piper Mclean is an actual badass BUT you know who is also a beautiful and complicated badass? My love, Samirah Al-Abbas.
7 NAME A MORALLY GREY CHARACTER. (VILLAIN OR ANTI HERO!)
Katharine from Three Dark Crowns! She is absolutely nuts and she’s one of my absolute favourite characters! She is a total hardass and take-control villain!
8 A CHARACTER YOU’RE STUNNED ISN’T MORE FAMOUS
Audrey Rose Wadsworth. The actual love of my life (I seem to have a lot of those, don’t I?) I’m honestly, just stunned in general that this series isn’t more popular. But, I love pretty much all of the women in this series and they all have a special place in my heart, Audrey Rose most of all.
9 A CHARACTER FROM A PIECE OF FICTION YOU’RE AMAZED ISN’T MORE FAMOUS
I don’t know if this is cheating or not, because I haven’t finished the book yet, but I feel like Pity Jones from Gunslinger could do with a bit more love? I mean, she’s a total badass with a gun and she’s here to show us what westerns should really look like (aka. women should be front and centre, not just the men).
Destiny @ HowlingLibraries because I love her very much and she should be tagged in every post ever.
Charlotte @ Charlotte Annelise because her blog is actually goals
